Thank you for your prompt response. Sharmila’s dignity in the face of the terrible consequences occasioned by her raising a protected disclosure when employed by Ealing puts us all to shame.
I am pleased to say that I have already had a response from Rob Hurd and I hope he and i can speak in the morning and find a positive way forward.
Best wishes
Roger

Dear Roger,
Thank you for copying me into this correspondence. Having met Sharmila on number of occasions, it would be hard to find a more dedicated or committed individual – I would imagine her integrity would be a significant asset to any organisation she worked for.
I was greatly saddened to hear of Sharmila’s experience today and this is something I think needs to be raised when Sharmila and I meet with Jeremy Hunt’s special advisor next week.
Kind Regards,
James

Dear Rob
Please find attached a letter for your urgent attention regarding the apparent victimisation, for the second time by your Trust, of Sharmila Chowdhury, whistleblower.
I would appreciate your giving it your personal attention and not passing it to HR as in part this is a serious complaint about your HR function.
I have suggested in the letter that we speak personally today. I would appreciate your positive response to that invitation.
I have copied it to colleagues at CQC and NHS employers since they have responsibilities for the implementation of NHS whistleblowing policies and the prevention of detriment to those who raise concerns.
Thank you
Roger Kline

Sharmila, I am so sorry about this. It is very distressing and so unfair and wrong. I am copying this to Eileen who has overall responsibility for our recruitment activities which are now under way. Best Wishes. David

Subject: FW: Interview Confirmation
Dear David and James,
Today I was supposed to attend interview for a temporary post as Imaging Manager for 3 months at Royal National Orthopedic Hospital (RNOH) at Stanmore. This morning however, agency dealing with this recruitment said that HR has refused the interview me but would not disclose to them their reasons. The client they have been dealing with at RNOH was really interested in me.
This the 2nd time RNOH has done this. This is the same hospital who had offered me a permanent post and was withdrawn by their HR department. The panel members all consisting of clinical staff were all aware of my whistleblowing past and were supportive.
Thought I would let you know. I am being treated like a ‘criminal’.
With warm wishes
Sharmila
