Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt
Health Secretary
Dear Mr Hunt,
I sent the letter below to Kathy McLean, Medical Director at TDA, to which you were copied in. This was nearly a month ago. I have also in addition, sent you a separate letter advising you of my desperate situation. I have yet to receive a response.
Kathy has been on leave and has been too busy to meet up with me. I have been offered a phone chat with her on Friday. However, this comes at a late stage as I am scheduled to return to work next week after my two weeks of annual leave.
I need urgent advice on what you would wish me to do:
a. Return to work where I believe I am being victimised and continue to be bullied. It seems to me that Imperial did not appreciate being pressured to take me on. I incidentally have paper trail of all that I have mentioned in my previous letter and some incidents that I have not mentioned. I am happy to meet for you to view if you are not satisfied with what I say.
b. Resign. If this is the case I will be left without any income. This means I will lose my home and will have to stop the current treatment I am on for cancer as I am currently having treatment using private insurance.
My on going and current situation is damaging to myself, Imperial and The Department of Health, whom I consider are ultimately responsible for my situation.
To continue ignoring my situation and stand by while I struggle demonstrates a lack of empathy and human understanding. I hope this is not the case.
I have endured hardship and struggle for nearly six years with permanent damage to my health.
I sincerely hope that you will intervene and provide an urgent permanent solution. I also appeal to you to ensure that I am protected from bullying from here on.
Yours sincerely
Sharmila
